About the Program

All Veterans who have served in a combat location or in combat against a hostile force after November 11, 1998, are eligible for free health care and nursing home care services for conditions potentially related to that service for two years following separation from active duty. Veterans who enroll in this program will be provided full access to the Medical Benefits Package.  Also, under current enrollment policies, veterans who enroll with the VA under this program will retain enrollment eligibility even after their two-year post discharge period ends.
