Visiting Hours and Policies

Visiting hours are based on the needs of the patient, and visitors are encouraged to discuss any special visiting needs with the unit's head nurse. Whenever possible and medically appropriate, the nurse will coordinate special visiting arrangements to meet patient and family needs.

If you are unable to visit a patient personally, you may call the patient or send a card or gift.

After Hours, Weekends, or Holiday Visitation

Visitors entering the facility after hours, weekends, or holidays are required to sign-in.  While visiting the facility they are governed by regulations concerning security, law enforcement, and standards of conduct on VA property.

Dress & Attire

Visitors should be properly attired, including shoes and shirts, and are not allowed to bring contraband into the hospital.

Infectious Disease Control

Visitors are expected to compy with facility procedures to prevent infectious disease transmission.  Visitors may be asked to leave or not visit, if a physician has determined the visitor has an infectious disease.

Visitor Conduct

Visitors will be expected to conduct themselves commensurate with the condition of the patient and without interfering with the patient's care on the ward, and may be interrupted for therapy or treatment programs.

Intensive Care Unit, Recovery Room, and Isolation

Patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Recovery Room, and Isolation or who are critically ill may have visitors based on the judgement of the physician or nurse.

Psychiatry

(In-Patient) Ward

Monday - Friday

5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Weekends & Holidays

8 a.m - 8 p.m.
