Compensation & Pension

Disability compensation and or pension is a monthly tax-free benefit paid to a Veteran for disabilities initially caused by or aggravated by injuries/illness/diseases that happened while on active duty, active duty training, or inactive duty training. 

You may be eligible for disability compensation if you have a service-related disability and you were discharged under anything but dishonorable conditions.  You may be eligible for pension benefits if you are permanently and totally disabled or age 65 and older, meet certain income criteria, and have verified wartime service.
