VA Western Colorado Health Care System
Travel Office - Beneficiary Travel
You may be eligible for mileage reimbursement or special mode transport (wheelchair or stretcher van) in association with obtaining VA health care services. Veterans are reimbursed for travel expenses directly into their bank accounts, through Electronic Fund Transfer. Electronic reimbursement provides significant savings to your time and ensures a safe and efficient way to receive payments. It also allows the VA to further embrace green initiatives and reduce the amount of paperwork involved. A claimant must apply either in person or in writing for payment of Beneficiary Travel within 30 calendar days after completing travel.
New Beneficiary Travel Office Hours:
Effective Immediately, until further notice; the Beneficiary Travel Office hours have changed.
The Beneficiary Travel office will be open for walk-ins: Mon-Fri from 12:30 to 15:30.
For assistance with travel, please call 970-242-0731 extension 2117, where you will be instructed to leave a message with Name, Phone #, and a brief explanation as to why you are calling.
For Patient Advocate Office: you may either take a message or forward Veterans to X2117 to leave a message. All messages will be returned within 48 hrs (2 business days). Thank you!
We ordered a drop-box for paper claims; but in the meantime: requests can be dropped off next door at the Transportation Office.
